Available now: the Urban95 Starter Kit
Urban95 is the Bernard van Leer Foundation’s initiative to incorporate a focus on the needs of young children and those who care for them into city design, planning and management. It asks a simple but bold question: “If you could experience a city from 95cm – the height of a 3-year-old – what would you change?”
The Urban95 Starter Kit is a collection of promising ideas we have encountered in this work so far. It is intended primarily for city and local government leaders and managers, politicians, and urban planners and designers. It is part of our attempt to build a bridge between early childhood and the urban sector. We hope it will spark discussion to refine, improve and build the evidence base for these ideas, and to generate new ideas.
We are planning to launch an updated version in early 2019, and we would welcome your feedback. If you are interested in testing the Starter Kit and filling in a questionnaire later this year on your experience, or if you have any other observations or suggestions, please contact Julien.Vincelot@bvleerf.nl.
