Colleague Yigit Aksakoglu acquitted of all charges

We are thrilled that our Turkey Representative, Yigit Aksakoglu was acquitted of all charges in his court hearing today. In November 2018, Yigit was detained by police for his alleged involvement in the organising of the Gezi Park protests of 2013 in Istanbul. He was subsequently held in pre-trial detention until June 2019, when he was released pending the outcome of the trial.

Today, Yigit and eight other defendants were cleared, and arrest warrants for others living abroad have been rescinded.

We are delighted that Yigit is now free to continue his life as a dedicated husband, father and champion of the welfare of babies, toddlers and the people who care for them.

We celebrate this news and look forward to seeing our colleague soon!
