São Paulo invites families’ feedback on early childhood plan

Last week the city of São Paulo held events across the city to get input from parents and children into the design of a municipal plan for early childhood. The draft Plano Municipal Pela Primeira Infância is a local adaptation of a model developed by the National Network for Early Childhood (RNPI) with our support, and was put together by stakeholders from municipal departments, city council members, funders, academic institutions, the private sector and technical allies.

Mayor Bruno Covas has made early childhood a priority for his term in office, and his administration is working with our partner Nossa São Paulo to identify priority areas using the maps developed by the Early Childhood Observatory. A member of the Mayor’s team participated in our Harvard executive education course on scaling early childhood initiatives.
