To our partners during Covid-19
A message from our Executive Director
Dear BvLF Partners,
In these enormously challenging times, we want to express our deep appreciation for your hard work on behalf of babies, toddlers and the people who care for them worldwide.
The current crisis will have a profound impact on the most vulnerable members of society. We are already seeing the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic’s health and economic impacts on families around the world. And we are bracing ourselves for what will happen when overstretched health systems are unable to care for the basic needs of families, pregnant women and very young children. They need your support more than ever.
We understand that many of you are or will be facing project or organisational problems as a result of the pandemic. We are here to support you in finding solutions and developing new ways of working.
If you need to adapt or change planned activities, outputs or outcomes, or to extend dates for grant and contractual agreements and reporting deadlines, please get in touch with your BvLF counterpart when you are ready if you have not already done so. We will be as flexible as we can.
And an ask of you: If you have ideas or resources for how families with young children can continue their play and stay mentally healthy during this time of physical distancing, we would be grateful if you could share with us by tagging #toddlinginside and #indoormentalhealth #mentalhealth4parents on Twitter, or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll compile and share widely on social media.
We wish everyone at home safe and well. And we thank the extraordinary frontline workers working so hard to keep and get us well.
In solidarity and with my very best wishes on behalf of our team
Cecilia Vaca Jones
