Videos show how three-year-olds experience Dakar
A new video follows a three-year-old girl as she makes her way to the market in Dakar with her mother. It is the first in a series of ten videos called Walking with Amadou, produced by ImagiNation Afrika, that will follow different children in the city. The remaining videos will be published between now and May.
Funded as part of our Urban95 work, the project aims to increase awareness of what it is like to experience Dakar from a height of 95cm, with a view to engaging citizens across West Africa in a public dialogue on the lived experiences of young children and their caregivers in urban environments.
The project has already established a partnership with a regional radio station and will further engage local and regional press, map and hold co-creation workshops in three communities in Dakar, and create a mini-exhibition based on data it collects.
