Comparative Global Study of Urban Spaces to Support Parents

This report is a comparative study of five urban programmes and spaces within municipalities that offer support to parents of young children.

How can designated spaces for parents and children be established within existing municipal infrastructure such as community centres? What needs should these spaces focus on meeting? What services and programmes should they provide?

These are among the questions addressed in this comparative study produced together with the International STEP by STEP Association (ISSA), which looks in depth at five programmes: Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (London); Briya Public Charter School’s Two Generation Programme (Washington DC); Mala Ulica Family Centre (Ljubljana); De SLOEP, House of the Child (Ghent); and Triple P – Positive Parenting Program (Queensland).
