Mallissa WattsProgramme Coordinator Refugee Response
Mallissa joined the Foundation in March 2021 as the Programme Coordinator for the Refugee Response programme. Her focus is on supporting and empowering displaced people and implementing the global strategy for caregiver mental health and psychosocial support, incorporating holistic, community-based practices.
Mallissa previously worked as a consultant for War Child and World Vision in the Netherlands and founded a non-profit organisation in Germany to bridge the gap between refugee camps and local communities. She has worked on a variety of applied psychology and neuroscience research projects at Stanford University and Utrecht University focused on improving anxiety and trauma-focused treatments. Mallissa holds an MSc in Neuro-Cognitive Psychology from the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich and a BA in Psychology and English Literature from the University of Washington in Seattle.
