Saddam SayyalehRepresentative Jordan
Saddam joined the Bernard van Leer Foundation as Representative Jordan, after gaining more than nine years of experience developing and scaling-up grassroot initiatives and social innovations. He has been leading and managing regional and international development programmes, focusing on children and youth needs in refugee and rural areas.
Saddam co-founded ILearn Jordan in 2012, which is a social enterprise solely focusing on creating community-led safe spaces for educating children in rural and underprivileged areas in Jordan. Their mission is to create an environment that promotes gender equality, self-worth, and personal agency.
Saddam is a social entrepreneur who uses a community-based approach with cross-sector networks, aiming at empowering children, parents and youth across the region. He is a member of many UN agencies and youth changemaker networks, a board member of Generation Unlimited, and a Global Shaper with the World Economic Forum.
