Taissa de Mello Padua Bernardes
Taissa de Mello Padua Bernardes is from São Paulo and has a bachelor’s degree in law from the Faculdade de Direito de São Bernardo do Campo (FDSBC), where she was granted a merit-based full scholarship due to outstanding academic results. During her studies, she conducted legal research for various governmental entities, worked with corporations on risk assessment, and interned for the Registry of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. After passing the bar exam, she worked as a clerk for the Court Management of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.
At the Bernard van Leer Foundation, Taissa supports the Programme Director and the Knowledge for Policy Director with administration, research, writing and project management. Taissa has provided independent consultancy services on human rights for various social movements and actively participated in civic engagements in local communities. She enjoys learning new languages and is the proud mother of a beautiful girl.
