Taissa de MelloAssistant to Executive Director
Taissa comes from São Paulo and has a bachelor’s degree in law from the Faculdade de Direito de São Bernardo do Campo (FDSBC), where she was granted a merit-based full scholarship due to outstanding academic results. During her studies, she conducted legal research for various governmental entities, worked with corporations on risk assessment and interned for the Registry of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. After passing the bar exam, Taissa worked as a clerk for the Court Management of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, has provided independent consultancy services on human rights for various social movements and actively participated in civic engagements in local communities.
At the Bernard van Leer Foundation Taissa supports the Executive Director with the programme administration of global grants, research, writing and project management. She enjoys learning new languages and is the proud mother of a beautiful girl.
